About The Artist

Madi Southerland is 17 years old. She is a very passionate dancer who has dreamed of having a career in dance since she was very young. She has been in dance since she was 9 years old. Most of her dance experience is in ballet. When she started dance she did only ballet for about 6 years. She then switched studios and began taking pointe, jazz, contemporary, and tap as well as ballet. Starting in 2019, she has attended Butler Tech School of the Arts to continue to grow in her dance career. There, she takes ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, and lyrical. She has also had three years (and counting) of experience in choreographing and teaching in beginner classes. She plans to continue the two year dance program at BTSOA until graduation. After she graduates she intends to take an online, year long college program on dance studio management and open her own studio, acting as owner and primary dance instructor and choreographer. She would also love to have many more experiences in teaching and choreography. She is seeking to be hired for performing dance roles as well.

Madi has also had several theatrical experiences where she has performed as both actor and ensemble characters. She loves theater and is interested in using it in her career as well.
